Meet Your Therapist

Hi, I’m Alexandria Romero

But please feel free to call me Ali.

Fun things about me

I love funny/thriller movies and am a lover the arts and history. I have taught world religions in the past and have a spiritual lens I view through, not a specified denomination. I find cultures to be both fascinating and beautiful at the same time. Exploring is my favorite hobby and I love visiting haunted spots. I enjoy a nice cup of tea always and am happy petting any fur baby when I can.

My Experience in the Field

I always knew I wanted to be a therapist from a young age but worried about how to get there when I started my undergraduate and switched to something I knew I could still help in, education. I taught middle school for a good 6 years before and after covid times when I decided I wanted to further help my students grow more than just academically. I then began graduate school after covid and pursued school counseling as a major with an added license so I could do both. I worked more into the field of social work while finishing up my last year of classes and graduated soon after to become a school counselor at the elementary level. I have loved working with kids of all ages but knew the world of addictions was a stone still unturned in my work. I left the education field and began to work for an agency supporting folks experiencing major life transitions due to substance use, with respect to the legal system. I’ve continued to bloom in my line of work and presently work in the field of SUD for residential treatment.

I’ve had a winding road but ended up where I was meant to be all along, helping others find their way to self again.

Introducing Hades, he’s the official pet of my virtual office and makes guest appearances every now and then. He’s been in attendance for most of my graduate course work & is a certified cutie.

Keep your eye out for the not so elusive secretary.
